The Entertainment Capital of the World
The internationally-renowned major resort city is the seat of Clark County as the most populous city in Nevada. The city is home to approximately 553,00 residents, making it the 28th most-populous city in the country and the most populous city founded in the 20th century. Here, the population is extremely diverse. The typical resident is 35 years old, married, travels 25 minutes to work, lives in a household of three, and enjoys a family income of $50,465.

Recreation
Off the famous Strip, recreation abounds in the city of Las Vegas. Downtown there are several hotel casinos where the gambling industry began. However, outside the hustle and bustle of card tables, other leisure activities are presented as well. Recreation facilities are bountiful, with passive parks, dog parks, swimming pools, golf courses, skate parks, recreational centers, galleries, sports complexes, reserves, senior centers and more. There are over 65 parks found throughout the city, nine of which are skate parks and 10 of which are dog parks. Across the many huge parks, name any type of park amenity and it would most likely be found. The 180 acres of the Las Vegas Springs Preserve is just 3 miles from downtown and includes education as well as fun.  The park has vibrant desert botanical gardens, museum galleries, outdoor concert venues, an indoor theater, and many walking trails meandering by a wetland habitat. Even more massive is the 2,040-acre Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, the Mojave Desert oasis. The park is a large urban retreat in the Las Vegas Valley with cool waters and lush vegetation.
